The wide pass between the Northern Ice Mountains, Moon’s leap is the gateway to Heldrassë, and as such has been the site of countless battles throughout the ages.

Recently, the isolated raiding parties have been banding together to form a more cohesive force, and the Queen’s fleet has been dispatched to patrol the northern borders.

The fortification walls stretch over one hundred miles, and there are many strongholds along it, the largest being the Tower of the Moon.

Moon's Leap had the largest garrison of troops out of all the military outposts in Heldrassë. The forces are mostly made up from House Scarlet's own Red Guard, though the other Great Houses are also obliged to provide troops from their own lands, such is the strategic importance of its location. It is well understood that should Moon's Leap fall to invaders from the north, there is little to stop them marching across the fields of Providence and right the way up to the gates of the capital itself.
