Mosiil was amongst the earliest-colonised star-systems, the numerous ice-moons proved resource-rich extraction sites to the first prospectors. A strong missionary presence led to many religious retreats being built upon their glacial landscapes.

Mosiil system has now been declared a site of natural heritage, and access controlled in order to reduce the number of tourists from potentially damaging this stunning environment.
