Silvermere

The ancestral homeland of the Emerald House.

Once House Emerald's centre of power, ever since the Night of the Falling Leaves, Silvermere has been taken over by House Scarlet, ruled over by Baron Eldrummë, brother to the Master of the Queen’s armies.

The castle of Greystone Keep is an impenetrable structure, built high up on the Crag, a promontory that juts out into the waters of Lake Silvermere, with the city of Olden nestled at its feet.

‘Will you take me to the Tower of the Moon someday, Papa?’ asked Maia, now suddenly awake once more, bright-eyed and eager to hear more about her father’s adventures.
‘Wouldn’t you rather visit Silvermere with me?’ asked the duke with a smile.
‘You’ve been to Silvermere?’ gasped Maia, her voice filled with wonder.
‘I had never thought I would return to the land of our ancestors,’ continued the duke solemnly. ‘It is well over ten years since I was last there. Things have changed so much, but there are many that remember House Emerald and still hold to their old loyalties.’
