Beneath Kings Hill, there are stories of a vast network of caverns and tunnels, once inhabited by some long-forgotten race, back before the capital city had a name.

The entrances were long-since sealed up to the citizens of Amrosa, but there are still ways in from the White Palace, and rumours of secret entrances created by the lords of the Great Houses.

To protect the White Palace from infiltration through the catacombs, King Ullrich released a pack of Shadowhounds into the dark tunnels.

They are fed each day from a pit within the palace itself, and then left to prowl the darkness, searching for any who are foolish enough to stray into their lair.
