Hello!

I hope you're all keeping well. We've had a week of rain and grey skies, but it feels like Christmas is on the way, so it can't be all bad!

I was having a look at where we are in the Deathwalkers audiobook release, and we're over 80% through it! It's certainly a chunky book, but it feels as though it's picking up pace as it runs towards the end now.

I always knew that getting an episode a week for this book was going to be a big block of work and a tough schedule. That's because I'm having to record the narration and create the soundtrack, where normally I've only done one or the other.

To give you an idea, it takes roughly six to eight hours to record and edit each twenty-five minute episode. So, it's taken around 270 hours to create this audiobook so far! And I've still got over 50 hours more recording and editing time to go!

But I think it's all worth it. It's always been my goal to create the most engaging, immersive, and dramatic story that I could achieve. And when I listen back to it, I'm so pleased with the results.

The next audiobook I will be creating the enhanced version of The Deathwalkers. I already have the narration recorded for that, so I'm hoping I will have more time for writing during that phase.

So time is a little scarce at the moment, but I'm grabbing every free moment I can to work on The Circle of Souls series. It's obsessing me at present as I try and finalise the direction of the main story arc. It feels as though I'm trying to thread so many character strands together so that they all arrive at the same place at the same moment. But any change in one affects the others, and a new idea spills out and alters other characters' courses.

I really want this series to be something very special, and I hope that spending so much time on the little details will pay off in the end.

Anyway, back to the release...

Episode Thirty-Eight - Unrest

Captain Blake's squad are becoming nervous of his reckless disregard for their safety and his own. After his actions with their fallen comrades, some are openly questioning his ability to lead.

 

The stress of being cooped up in a bunker at Fieldbase Alpha-9 cut off by a storm is playing heavily on them, particularly with an Exile kill squad at large.

 

But just when tensions are reaching breaking point, news comes to Captain Blake that he must take a patrol into the ruined village in search of Victor Lammb, a place normally off-limits after dark...

The latest episode is out, so that means that earlier episodes have been unlocked for lower tiers.
