Hi,

I'm really enjoying the recording of this section of the audiobook. It's wonderfully creepy and atmospheric, as Captain Blake and his men are stuck in the claustrophobic conditions of Observation Post Saturn, right on the edge of the Maunsworth valley.

I get to use all sorts of weird and wonderful sound effects. Taking a quick look at the list for this episode, they include the following: A recording of a music box, slowed and reversed - a recording of me hitting some tubular bells at a nature park - the sound of scrunching up some thick cardboard to get a great eerie creaking sound - the squeak of my mic stand slowed down to make a scary metal hinge creak, and a recording of some wild boars to make some terrifying demon howls!

All great fun!

Anyway, back to the release...

28 - The Barricade

Captain Blake's patrol has made it to Observation Post Saturn, the nearest point to the wreck of the Divinity. But the Maunsworth valley is still a chaos of storms and demons, and any path through to the ship looks impossible.

Private Lyle is overwhelmed by his first experiences of the Heavenfield and struggles to hold himself together in the claustrophobic conditions of his environment suit.

But worse is to come when he is sent down to guard the barricade in the caves deep beneath the outpost...
