Usually incurred via a suit breach, but can include any sudden exposure to the Standing-Point Field's atmosphere, Type-A exposure will invariably cause immediate psychological trauma, resulting in hallucinations and mania, alongside physical trauma and ultimately death.

Long-term effects manifest as cellular damage, including skin mutations, hair loss and bleeding gums, and psychological trauma including visions / vivid dreams, loss of sleep / night terrors, as well as a loss of appetite (including thirst).

As yet, there is no known cure for Type-A Field Exposure, although there are rumours of successful techniques employed by Exile medical staff to negate, and in some case reverse any damage caused [see Field Transition - Transition Trauma].
