During the turbulent times of the Standing-Point Project the British Government began to recognise the immense threat that the Heavenfield posed, and the importance of the Research Facility.

So Aubrey Wilson was brought to Maunsworth from the British Intelligence Services. Since he was already known to Colin James, the Base Commander, it was thought he would perform well in his supervisory capacity.

After the first incident, Wilson continued to oversee the Project in its entirety.

A portly, endearing gentleman, it is easy to underestimate Aubrey Wilson, and his ability to ‘fix’ difficult political situations.
